What is a topographical survey?

The difference between a topographical survey and a measured building survey –
Topographical surveys are conducted at a larger scale than measured building surveys. For example, topographical surveys may cover several acres. Whereas, a measured building survey is limited to the building site. Also, one other main difference is that Measured building surveys are usually conducted to analyse a building while topographical surveys scan piece of land for development.
